Cheonil Energy Co., Ltd. has donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea (also known as the Fruit of Love) in honor of the late Chairman Park Cheondon. The donation ceremony was held on April 30 at the Fruit of Love Hall in Seoul, attended by CEO Park Sangwon and company executives and employees.

This donation, made in the name of his father, also marked the moment when Cheonil Energy became the 613th nationwide and 95th Seoul regular member of the "Honor Society of Sharing Companies." Park Sangwon, CEO of Cheonil Energy, stated, "My late father endured difficult times and rose on his own, always emphasizing a life lived together with neighbors," and added, "Through this donation, we will continue his legacy and fulfill our social responsibility through various sharing activities."

The late Chairman Park Cheondon, who passed away in January this year, began his career in the 1970s producing and assembling lighting equipment at a lighting company factory. Within ten years, he established his own business, Cheonil Co., Ltd. He expanded the business to include Cheonil Solar Park Co., Ltd., a solar energy company, and Cheonil Energy Co., Ltd., which is engaged in district energy projects. Notably, during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the company supplied all lighting equipment used at the event, leaving a significant mark in the industry.

Cheonil Energy is currently focusing on waste treatment and eco-friendly energy production. It is the first company in Korea to operate the entire process?from waste collection, transportation, temporary storage, intermediate processing, to final disposal?using its own facilities.

Based on waste management agreements with over 50 local governments and institutions nationwide, the company stably provides free processing of waste wood, forest waste, and coffee grounds. It continues to contribute to resource circulation and carbon neutrality by carrying out re-resourcing processes according to the characteristics of each type of waste.

Currently, Cheonil Energy operates seven temporary waste storage facilities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and twelve eco-friendly bio-solid fuel (BIO-SRF) production plants in Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and other regions nationwide. The company has the capacity to produce and supply approximately 500,000 tons of wood chips annually. All collected waste is 100% recycled and converted into eco-friendly thermal energy sources that replace fossil fuels. The solid fuel wood chips produced by Cheonil Energy are supplied as eco-friendly energy to companies located in the Yangmun Industrial Complex in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Cheonil Energy has consistently made donations to address local community issues and plans to further expand its social contribution activities this year, including supporting the empowerment of people with disabilities in Malawi, one of the world's poorest countries.
