The Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center will hold a special event on May 5 to celebrate the 103rd Children's Day.
The center announced on May 1 that it has planned a special event under the theme "Firefighting Nation of Safety and Adventure," allowing children to enjoy various firefighting safety experiences in a fun way. The event will take place at the center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on that day.
The event will be divided into three main categories: firefighting safety programs, children's cultural performances, and special experience programs.
The firefighting safety programs will include activities such as experiencing firefighter uniforms, "Find the Emergency Exit for Fire Evacuation!", "Match the 119 Emergency Call!", and "Create and Draw Your Own Fire Truck." These activities are designed to help children easily and enjoyably learn firefighting safety knowledge and experience what it is like to be a firefighter themselves.
Special event organized by Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center to celebrate Children's Day on May 5th. Provided by Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters.
The center will also invite multicultural families to participate in sessions where they can learn emergency procedures such as CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator, and the Heimlich maneuver, providing families with an opportunity to develop practical safety skills together.
In addition, there will be a variety of side events, including "Challenge! Safety Quiz Show," where children can test their firefighting safety knowledge together, a kids' magic show, and a children's K-POP cheerleading performance.
Photo zones and face painting booths featuring firefighter characters Young-i and Woong-i, Ilgu (the rescue dog character), fire trucks, ambulances, and other firefighting-related themes will also be set up throughout the event venue.
More details about the event can be found on the center's website (https://ggsec.gg.go.kr).
Kim Inkyum, director of the Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center, said, "Through this special Children's Day event, I hope children will learn about safety in a fun way and enjoy a special day with their families," adding, "We will continue to provide various experiential opportunities so that safety can become a part of everyday life from an early age."
