'CIBF 2025' is the world's largest battery expo, scheduled to take place in China from May 15 to 17, with more than 3,000 companies and over 400,000 experts and buyers expected to attend.
This exhibition is a significant event that offers a comprehensive overview of the latest technologies and trends in the global battery industry. Pohang City plans to use this opportunity to showcase the competitiveness of its regional secondary battery industry to a global audience.
Pohang has established itself as the center of South Korea's secondary battery industry through various national projects, including the designation as a specialized secondary battery complex, the Global Corporate Innovation Park, a secondary battery-focused university, a glocal university, and the Opportunity Development Zone.
In particular, Pohang has built a full-cycle ecosystem cluster for the secondary battery materials industry, securing competitiveness across the entire value chain from cathode material raw materials to recycling.
At this exhibition, Pohang will introduce the differentiated technologies and market competitiveness of local companies at a joint promotion booth featuring three companies that form the full-cycle industrial ecosystem.
The participating companies are ENDIVE, Dawon Chemical, and PM Grow, each presenting innovative technologies in their respective fields.
ENDIVE is growing as the only specialized secondary battery reuse and recycling company in Korea by establishing an innovative system that comprehensively manages the entire process of used batteries.
Dawon Chemical recovers lithium, a key mineral for secondary batteries, from waste batteries using an eco-friendly dry pyrolysis process. The company possesses environmentally friendly technology that does not emit wastewater or harmful gases during the process.
PM Grow is Korea's first battery safety service platform company, providing an AI-based real-time integrated safety management service that analyzes battery lifespan, condition, and risk factors, and offers data-driven safety management solutions.
At this exhibition, the city aims to strengthen the competitiveness of its regional industry and create new market entry opportunities by facilitating business consultations and technical cooperation networking with Chinese and global buyers.
Building on this, Pohang plans to continuously promote the globalization of the secondary battery industry through hosting international battery expos, participating in overseas exhibitions, and establishing global partnerships.
A city official stated, "Pohang is the only city in Korea with a full-cycle industrial structure encompassing everything from battery material production to waste battery recycling and safety management services. By participating in CIBF 2025, we will clearly demonstrate to the world that Pohang is a city that confidently competes in the global battery market with its technological capabilities."
