This award is presented to companies that have contributed to building and expanding the supply chain of the U.S. offshore wind industry. LS Cable was recognized for its achievements in subsea cable technology, strengthening its production base in the United States, and expanding strategic partnerships. LS Cable CEO Bonkyu Koo was invited as the first Korean keynote discussant at the event's opening ceremony, where he emphasized the long-term growth potential of the offshore wind industry and the importance of energy transition.
Koo stated, "It is difficult to make the right decisions about the offshore wind industry from a short-term perspective," adding, "LS Cable views this as a long-term industry that will last 30 years, or even more than 50 years, and we believe now is the right time to enter and invest." He continued, "There may be market fluctuations in the short term, but in the long run, this industry will clearly follow a growth trajectory, and that conviction formed the basis for our large-scale investment in Virginia, United States."
