The "On-Site Civil Defense Education" program is a customized educational initiative aimed at providing essential knowledge and improving disaster response skills in preparation for civil defense emergencies. It is specifically designed for seniors and village residents who typically find it difficult to participate in regular training sessions. The program is conducted directly at locations where residents gather, such as multi-use facilities, senior centers, and village halls within the city.
The training focuses on key areas, including how to wear a gas mask, education on actions to take in the event of a radiological disaster, and hands-on training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Members of the Yangsan City Women's Civil Defense Mobile Unit play a vital supporting role at the education sites, assisting instructors with preparations, guiding residents to actively participate in practical exercises, and demonstrating procedures. Through these various support activities, they serve as reliable partners in maximizing the effectiveness of the training.
Kim Hyunjung, the unit leader, stated, "I feel rewarded knowing that our small efforts can help residents lead their daily lives safely. We will continue to actively participate in various activities to ensure community safety and fulfill our role as steadfast guardians of safety."
