This meeting was attended by 21 participants, including Jung Younghoon, Director of Korean Medicine Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Lee Eunkyung, Director of the Policy Headquarters at the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, as well as officials from the government, local authorities, and the Korean medicine community. An in-depth analysis was conducted on the operational status and achievements of the 'Yuseong-type Korean Medicine Home Visit Service,' which is being actively promoted by Yuseong District in Daejeon.
In particular, the program efficiently manages 140 beneficiaries through the participation of 47 local Korean medicine clinics, where doctors of Korean medicine visit the homes of elderly people and residents with limited mobility at least once a month to provide medical services, addressing the low accessibility to medical institutions for these groups.
Additionally, the background and specific achievements of the Yuseong District's home visit project were presented. The Yuseong District Association of Korean Medicine shared best practices in the field of community Korean medicine health care, and participants explored ways to further develop the project model based on their own experiences and expertise.
Yuseong District Office was also highlighted for its notable achievement of contributing to the establishment of a community-integrated care system by providing customized services for each beneficiary through close cooperation with the Integrated Care Team.
An official from the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development stated, "We plan to continue strengthening the foundation of Korean medicine health care projects and driving their nationwide expansion by discovering outstanding models that link local resources and providing customized consulting tailored to the characteristics of each region."
