Mirae Asset Capital to Acquire 100 Billion KRW Worth of Mirae Asset Securities Common Shares

Mirae Asset Capital announced on April 30 that it will acquire common shares of Mirae Asset Securities.

The total acquisition amount is approximately 100 billion KRW. The company plans to purchase the shares in stages through on-market transactions over about three months, from May 2 to the end of July. As a result of this acquisition, Mirae Asset Capital's stake in Mirae Asset Securities is expected to increase by 1.85 percentage points, from 32.05% to approximately 33.9%.


A representative from Mirae Asset Capital stated, "The fundamentals of Mirae Asset Securities are strengthening, including the potential for increased performance of its overseas subsidiaries, proactive shareholder return policies, a unique global asset allocation strategy, and pension competitiveness. We decided to purchase additional shares to secure more voting rights and to strengthen our control as the largest shareholder."


Meanwhile, Mirae Asset Securities announced a plan to enhance corporate value last August, setting a target of retiring at least 15 million common shares annually. In line with this, the company retired a total of 25 million shares in November last year and February this year. The total shareholder return amounted to 367 billion KRW, achieving a shareholder return ratio of approximately 39.8%.
