Yangsan Branch of Ministry of Employment and Labor and Gyeongnam East KOSHA Launch Intensive Industrial Accident Prevention Period

The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (headed by Kwon Kuhyung) and the Gyeongnam East Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (headed by Ahn Wonhwan) will operate a "Three Major High-Risk Work Industrial Accident Prevention Intensive Period" from May to July.

According to the Yangsan Branch, over the past five years, most fatal industrial accidents in the region have occurred between May and July. The main causes have been identified as forklifts, lifting equipment (cranes and lifts), and non-routine work.

Accordingly, the Yangsan Branch plans to further strengthen industrial accident prevention activities during this intensive period. Key measures include a relay campaign in industrial complexes (three times in total), the posting of banners within industrial complexes, the implementation of self-inspections at workplaces using self-checklists, and special supervision focused on workplaces with frequent accidents involving the three major high-risk work types.

Kwon Kuhyung, head of the Yangsan Branch, stated, "In order to eradicate the recent recurrence of serious industrial accidents, both employers and workers must remain vigilant regarding the three major high-risk work types," and urged, "Please make every effort to prevent similar accidents."
