On April 30, the People's Livelihood Countermeasure Committee (Seominwi) announced that it had reported Chairman Chey and CEO Yoo to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of violating the Personal Information Protection Act and the Information and Communications Network Act. The police have received the complaint and are currently reviewing the case.
Seominwi stated, "Given the delayed response to the hacking attack, it is unreasonable to dismiss this incident as an unavoidable circumstance," and added, "The lack of awareness shown by Chairman Chey and CEO Yoo could lead to further social disruption."
Meanwhile, the police have formed a dedicated investigation team of 22 members on this day to secure digital evidence and determine the circumstances of the hacking in connection with the SK Telecom SIM card hacking incident, launching a full-scale investigation.
