Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do, announced on April 30 that it was selected as an outstanding institution for blood donation performance in the winter of 2025 and received a plaque of appreciation from the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross.
On April 29, the head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross visited Hampyeong County to present the plaque of appreciation, along with a coffee truck as an additional gift.
This recognition was given in acknowledgment of Hampyeong County's significant contributions during the 2025 winter blood donation campaign period, including actively encouraging participation and promoting the culture of blood donation in the community, which resulted in high blood donation performance.
In particular, public officials, institutions, social organizations, and residents voluntarily participated in and encouraged blood donation, setting an exemplary case for others.
Along with the plaque presentation ceremony, Hampyeong County, in collaboration with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center, is holding a blood donation event in celebration of the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, which runs until May 6.
The blood donation event took place at three locations: the Hampyeong County Health Center, the county office, and Nonghyup, utilizing two blood donation buses. The event aimed to collect blood from 100 donors. Participants included public officials, employees of related institutions, members of social and volunteer organizations, local residents, and tourists, all coming together to support the cause.
Lee Sangik, the governor of Hampyeong County, stated, "I deeply thank all the residents who joined in practicing the value of sharing life," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to promote steady participation in blood donation and the spread of a sharing culture in the future."
