Emgen Solution Joins Ministry of Science and ICT, IITP-Supported '3D Digital Twin-Based Urban Safety Platform' Development

Emgen Solution Joins Ministry of Science and ICT, IITP-Supported '3D Digital Twin-Based Urban Safety Platform' Development

Emgen Solution (CEO Cho Sanghwan) announced on April 30 that it will participate in the development project of the "Multimodal Sensor-Based 3D GIS Reconstruction and Anomaly Situation Simulation Prediction Platform (ACRM)" as part of the "Core Technology Development for Immersive Content" program supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).

This project, in which Emgen Solution will participate as a joint research institution, will be led by Anna Co., Ltd. as the main institution, forming a consortium with Yonsei University, Incheon Technopark, and others. The project will run for approximately two years and nine months, from this month until December 2027. The total R&D budget for the project is approximately 4.4 billion KRW, and large-scale demonstration tests are scheduled to be conducted in Songdo, Cheongna, and Yeongjong areas within the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).

Emgen Solution will be responsible for developing real-time anomaly detection technology based on multimodal 3D data. The company plans to provide core solutions to enable rapid situation analysis and intuitive monitoring, even in complex urban environments.

In particular, this project is designed to overcome the limitations of 2D-based closed-circuit (CC) TV monitoring by enabling real-time integration and analysis of large-scale data collected from various sensors. In addition, it will be possible to predict and simulate abnormal signs within a 3D digital twin environment. Through this, the project is expected to revolutionize urban safety management in various fields such as smart cities, disaster response, and traffic management.

Lee Sangho, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Anna Co., Ltd. and overall project manager, stated, "We aim to innovate smart city safety management by developing real-time anomaly detection and prediction simulation technology within a 3D digital twin environment. In particular, we plan to verify the technological capabilities and reliability of the ACRM platform through demonstrations in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, and to expand its application to local governments and various industrial sectors nationwide in the future."

Lee Taekki, Head of Research at Emgen Solution, said, "This project will be an important turning point for urban safety innovation. Based on our capabilities in multimodal data processing and 3D GIS monitoring technology, we will provide practical and reliable smart city safety management solutions."

Emgen Solution plans to apply the ACRM platform to other local governments and public institutions based on the demonstration results. In addition, the company intends to expand the scope of its technology to various industrial sectors, including smart city safety management, disaster prediction, and traffic monitoring.
