On April 29, the two universities signed a "Research and Academic Exchange Agreement" at the conference room of the Fisheries Science Hall at National Pukyong University. This agreement was promoted to respond to the changing educational and research environment, such as the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) and the Glocal University 30 Project, as well as to lay the foundation for the growth of local industries.

Under the agreement, the two universities plan to establish a close cooperative system through mutual exchange of students and research personnel, joint research and academic conferences, shared use of experimental, practical, and research facilities, and collaboration in various business fields including national projects.

On this day, the two universities agreed that they should take the lead in fostering local industries by leveraging their geographical proximity and their respective strengths in the marine bio and pharmaceutical bio fields.

The event was attended by Kim Youngmok, Dean of the College of Fisheries Science at National Pukyong University; Kim Chanhee, Vice Dean; Lee Sanggil, Deputy Director of Educational Innovation; and Kang Jaeseon, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Kyungsung University; Park Yongju, Department Chair; and Lee Hyeonji, Professor.

Kim Youngmok, Dean of the College of Fisheries Science, stated, "This agreement is not merely the beginning of cooperation, but is expected to serve as an important stepping stone for creating new value through the convergence of marine bio and pharmaceutical bio. Both universities will work together to contribute to the development of local industries and the cultivation of future talent."

Kang Jaeseon, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, emphasized, "The region can only thrive if we break down the barriers between departments and majors, and furthermore, the walls between universities. We will strive for practical solidarity and joint response among local universities."

The two universities plan to continue their cooperative relationship in the future through the discovery of joint research projects, promotion of joint academic events, and shared use of research infrastructure.
