Jindo County to Hold Jindo Dog Festival and Selection Contest Simultaneously

At Jindogae Theme Park on May 3-4

Jindo County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim Heesu) announced on April 30 that it will simultaneously hold the '2025 Jindo Dog Festival' and the '29th Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest' under the theme 'Meeting at Jindogae Theme Park, the Hometown of the Jindo Dog' for two days from the 3rd to the 4th of next month at Jindogae Theme Park. The events are designed for local residents, tourists, and their companion dogs to interact and enjoy together.

This year's event will feature a variety of hands-on experiences and entertainment, as well as photo zones. The most popular programs at Jindogae Theme Park, such as Jindo dog interaction, running, and agility competitions, will be held.

In particular, to celebrate Family Month, the event will offer a range of activities and participatory programs for families visiting the festival, including air bouncers and Jindo dog character coloring activities, providing opportunities to create cherished memories.

The Excellent Jindo Dog Selection Contest, which began with its first edition in 1977, continues its tradition this year by selecting the best Jindo dog from among approximately 300 Jindo dogs registered from across the country.

Jindo dogs that have completed animal registration can apply to participate until the 30th. A total of 50 dogs will be selected, with four grand prize winners each receiving a prize of 4 million KRW, and a total of 63.8 million KRW in prize money will be awarded.
