'Car-Free Street' Children's Day Event to Be Held on Geumnamro on May 4 May Geumnamro Car-Free Street Poster.

On April 30, Gwangju Dong-gu District announced that on May 4, a five-lane road from Jeonil Building 245 to Geumnamro Park will be operated as a 'car-free street'.

This event, held in conjunction with the car-free street to celebrate Children's Day, is designed to create special memories for children and provide family visitors with a variety of cultural experiences.

On the day of the event, there will be a magic and bubble show, youth dance performances, balloon art gifts, character mascot performances, and a chalk art zone where children can draw on the road as if it were a sketchbook. There will also be an air bounce and game area, providing children with a lively space to play.

Artificial turf will be installed on the road to create a unique healing space where visitors can relax on beanbags. There will also be various carbon-neutral experience programs, a flower booth selling carnations and other flowers at affordable prices, and programs such as bicycle education and maintenance, offering a wide range of activities for families to enjoy.

To promote carbon neutrality, a citizen-participation flea market called 'Anabada' will be operated, where anyone can sell or exchange unused items.

To promote the purpose of the event, the first 300 residents who participate using 'public transportation', 'bicycles', or 'on foot' and provide proof such as a photo of their public transportation use will receive a small commemorative gift.

Lim Taek, head of Dong-gu District, said, "The Geumnamro Car-Free Street is an event created autonomously through resident participation," and added, "We hope that, with May being Family Month, this will be a time for families to create lasting memories together."
