Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) announced on April 30 that universities, including Chung-Ang University, Kyung Hee University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, are joining the donation campaign to help neighbors affected by the large-scale wildfire that occurred in March.
Chung-Ang University donated approximately 20 million won to support those affected by the wildfire. A fundraising campaign held over about two weeks saw the participation of 1,130 professors and students, who expressed their warm support. The Chung-Ang University Student Council also encouraged voluntary participation by distributing certification stickers to donors. Lee Minseong, President of the Chung-Ang University Student Council, said, "I am pleased that more students participated in the donation than expected," and added, "It was even more meaningful because the fundraising brought students' hearts together as one."
In addition, Kyung Hee University's Seoul and Global Campuses donated 17 million won, while Hankuk University of Foreign Studies contributed 3.5 million won, each supporting the swift recovery of daily life for those affected by the wildfire.
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, "I deeply thank the university students who sent their warm hearts to the victims despite their busy academic schedules," and added, "The donations will be used with care to support the daily recovery and restoration of residents in the wildfire-affected areas."
