Mayor Nakho Bae of Gimcheon and Representative Eonseok Song Make All-Out Effort as a "One Team" to Secure National Funding

Accelerating "Sales Administration" at Central Ministries
to Secure Inclusion in Next Year's Government Budget

Nakho Bae, mayor of Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province, has launched an extensive campaign to secure national funding, accompanied by National Assembly member Eonseok Song.

On April 28, Mayor Bae visited both the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Environment in succession to explain key local issues and actively request that they be reflected in the 2026 government budget.


This visit is an extension of Mayor Bae's initial pledge, made at the beginning of his term, to become a "one-team salesman" with Representative Song. Following his meeting with the governor of Gyeongbuk Province on April 8, he is now fully launching his "sales administration" efforts to secure national funding.

At the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Mayor Bae met with Yoonsun Jeong, Director of Health and Medical Policy, to explain Gimcheon City's plan to establish a specialized integrated medical center for children. He requested government-level interest and support to address the issue of low birth rates.


Subsequently, during his visit to the Ministry of Environment, Mayor Bae held a meeting with Vice Minister Byunghwa Lee. He requested national funding support for major local environmental infrastructure projects, including the installation of buffer and retention facilities in industrial complexes (total project cost: 48.5 billion KRW) and the establishment of an integrated biogas facility (total project cost: 46.9 billion KRW).


Mayor Bae stated, "Securing national and provincial funding is of utmost importance for the sustainable growth of Gimcheon City." He added, "I will continue to work in close cooperation with Representative Song to ensure that the necessary budget for resolving local issues is secured."
