Gwanak-gu to Provide 516 Jobs in Seoul's Largest Second Half Companion Job Project

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is recruiting participants for the "2025 Second Half Seoul Companion Job Project" to provide livelihood support and promote self-reliance for low-income residents, vulnerable job seekers, and the unemployed who are facing economic difficulties.

Following the provision of jobs to 616 people in the first half of the year, the district will secure a total of 516 jobs in the second half (▲63 for youth ▲353 for those under 65 ▲100 for those aged 65 and over), maintaining its reputation as the largest job creation project in Seoul.

To achieve this, the district secured approximately 5.2 billion won in municipal subsidies through a regular public offering organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and additionally obtained 600 million won by actively applying for supplementary funding opportunities.

The project period runs for five months, from July 1 to November 30. Participants will be assigned to various departments within the district office and local community centers, taking on roles such as ▲Peer Youth Supporters ▲Gwanak Clean Life Leaders ▲Gwanak Safety Monitors, among others.

The working hours are five days a week, three to five hours per day (▲five hours for youth and those under 65 ▲three hours for those aged 65 and over). Participants will also receive various benefits, including ▲enrollment in the four major social insurances ▲weekly and monthly leave allowances ▲health checkups for safety and health management ▲training on occupational safety, sexual harassment prevention, and human rights.

The application period runs until May 12. Any Gwanak-gu resident aged 18 or older with the ability to work as of the project start date is eligible to apply. However, those who meet any of the following criteria will be excluded from selection: ▲households with combined family assets (including cohabitants) exceeding 499 million won as listed on the resident registration ▲those whose income exceeds 80% of the standard median income ▲households with more than one participant per household.

Residents wishing to participate should check the recruitment notice posted on the district office website (News & Announcements → Job Postings), prepare the required documents, and apply in person at the community center corresponding to their registered address.

The district will conduct a comprehensive review of applicants' assets, income, and participation history, and will announce the final list of selected participants on June 25. Successful applicants will be contacted individually.

Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, stated, "In these challenging economic times, I am pleased to be able to offer more jobs to our residents," adding, "We will continue our efforts to create high-quality jobs, which are among the best forms of welfare, and to inject vitality into the local economy."
