Gumi City Achieves Top Score in Gyeongbuk in 'Evaluation of Donated Food Provision Facilities' Gyeongbuk Gumi Food Market

In this evaluation, Gumi Food Market ranked first out of 26 facilities, Gumi Food Bank took second place, and Sarangnanum Food Bank ranked sixth, dominating the top positions.

This result marks a significant improvement in operational performance compared to the 2022 evaluation, reflecting Gumi City's systematic and practical efforts to enhance management.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluates the operational performance of food markets and food banks every three years to promote the provision of donated food and strengthen support for vulnerable groups. The evaluation is based on overall operational standards, including the availability of facilities and equipment, hygiene and safety management, staffing, and records of food receipt and distribution.

Currently, Gumi City operates one food market (Gumi Food Market) and three food banks (Gumi Food Bank, Sarangnanum Food Bank, Seonsan Food Bank), providing essential daily necessities and food to neighbors in need in a stable manner.

Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, stated, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure that donated food is distributed equitably to neighbors in need," and called for continued interest and participation from citizens and businesses.

Companies, organizations, or individuals wishing to donate can participate at any time throughout the year, while those in need of support can visit their local Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Center for consultation and application.
