Uiseong County in Gyeongbuk is offering a special English experience opportunity to children by holding a special event class at a local daycare center's native English classroom in celebration of Children's Day.
The county received a great response last year after introducing, for the first time in Gyeongbuk, a native English classroom program for daycare centers. This year, the program has been expanded and is being actively operated. In particular, from April 28 to May 2, during Children's Day week, a variety of hands-on English classes were organized, bringing new energy to the educational setting.
The event classes consisted of a dance time with the tangerine-shaped character "Gyulyangi" mascot costume, a balloon relay game, and a Children's Day gift presentation ceremony. During the dance time, which was held to the "Hello OrangeCat Song," children naturally learned English expressions while moving their bodies to the rhythm. In the following relay game, they developed both teamwork and English language skills through play.
At the end of the class, to commemorate Children's Day, a gift set containing an auxiliary bag, a water bottle, and a sketchbook was given to the children, creating unforgettable memories for them.
Taylor, a native English teacher, said, "Over the past two months of classes, I have seen the children develop interest and confidence in English," and added, "I will continue to prepare a variety of programs so that English can feel like an enjoyable game."
Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, stated, "I am very proud to see the children experiencing the joy of communicating with the world through English," and added, "We will continue to expand educational support and experiential opportunities in the future."
Meanwhile, the native English classroom program at Uiseong County daycare centers is also contributing to the holistic growth of children by incorporating various programs such as science experience classes in addition to English lessons.
