Wando County attracted significant attention from visitors with its proactive promotion of the "Hometown Love Donation System" and the "2025 Visit Wando Year."
The county announced on April 29 that it had participated in the 15th Yongmunsan Wild Vegetable Festival, held in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, its sister city, where it promoted the hometown love donation system and the Wando region to festival attendees.

On this day, Wando County operated a promotional booth at the festival, where it showcased hometown love donation return gifts such as abalone, gim (seaweed), and bananas, and hosted a variety of hands-on events. In particular, the "Abalone Curling Event," which used boneless abalone, proved highly popular among participants and enhanced the promotional impact.
In addition, events such as the "Nostalgic Lucky Draw," featuring representative Wando prizes like gim, miyeok (kelp), and marine healing therapy, as well as the "On-site Donation 1+1 Event," helped raise understanding and interest in the hometown love donation system. The county plans to continue promoting the region by operating a hometown love donation promotional booth at the "Wando Jangbogo Seafood Festival," which will be held from May 3 to 6.
Lee Beomwoo, Deputy Governor, stated, "It was a meaningful opportunity to introduce Wando and the hometown love donation system to citizens in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions."
Meanwhile, the county has selected "Support for the Wando County BC Youth Baseball Team" as a designated donation project under the hometown love donation system and is raising funds until the end of June. In addition, the county is also pursuing various donation projects that reflect local characteristics, such as "Operation of Healing Month for Childcare Moms at Haecance," and "Support for Community Laundry Facilities in Cheongsan-myeon."
