Gwangju Urban Corporation's Mudeung Gymnasium Certified as 'Excellent Crime Prevention Facility'

Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on April 29 that the Gwangju Mudeung Gymnasium, operated by the corporation, has received certification as an 'Excellent Crime Prevention Facility.'

The 'Excellent Crime Prevention Facility Certification' is a program administered by the National Police Agency. It comprehensively evaluates various factors such as management and operation systems, access control, territoriality, signage, and safety maintenance efforts to prevent various crimes that may occur in facilities used by citizens. Facilities that meet the standards are awarded a certification plaque.

Mudeung Gymnasium is a building with one basement level and three above-ground floors. It received certification after meeting more than 80% of the 91-item crime prevention checklist, including installing CCTV in parking lot blind spots, providing emergency bells, and ensuring sufficient lighting throughout the facility.

President Kim Seungnam stated, "I am pleased that, following Pyeongdong Gymnasium, we have received the second Excellent Crime Prevention Facility certification, allowing citizens to use our facilities with greater peace of mind. We will continue to do our best to create safe sports facilities in the future."
