[Market Focus] Telcoware Rises on Highlighted History of USIM Task Force Collaboration with SKT

Telcoware shares are showing strong performance. This is interpreted as a result of the rush to replace USIM cards free of charge following a hacking incident at SK Telecom, with attention being drawn to Telcoware's history of joint research and development of USIM management systems with SKT.

As of 2:11 p.m. on April 29, Telcoware was trading at 10,180 won, up 4.95% from the previous day.

According to industry sources, SK Telecom, which experienced the hacking incident, has begun offering free USIM card replacements. Within approximately one day, 280,000 subscribers had replaced their USIM cards. Currently, 4.32 million users have made online reservations to replace their USIM cards.

The number of subscribers to the USIM protection service, which SK Telecom described as a method to prevent fraudulent financial transactions using USIM information, has reached a cumulative total of 8.71 million. As a result, the total number of users who have replaced or reserved to replace their USIM cards, or registered for the USIM protection service, is now 13.31 million.

Meanwhile, Telcoware is a company that develops and supplies telecommunications solutions for the core network sector of domestic telecommunications providers. The company has a track record of conducting research for the development of the UCMS (USIM Card Management System), a system that manages the entire lifecycle of USIM cards, in collaboration with SK Telecom.
