CI Tech announced on April 29 that it will merge with MOD, a smart hospital bed service provider. With this merger, CI Tech plans to accelerate digital innovation in the medical field by integrating the technology and hospital network of its subsidiary, MOD.
MOD is a company that has established a unique position in the domestic smart hospital bed solution sector. Leveraging 15 years of technological expertise, it collaborates with more than 315 hospitals?the largest number in Korea?and provides services for 43,345 beds.
MOD supplies hospital bed TV systems, IoT-based fall prevention solutions, and patient monitoring systems utilizing electronic tags (e-Tags). It has expanded cooperation with top-tier general hospitals such as Asan Medical Center, Severance Hospital, and Konyang University Hospital, as well as with major regional hospitals nationwide.
CI Tech plans to build a real-time patient-clinician communication platform by combining its ICT technology, cloud platform, hardware infrastructure, and AI algorithms with MOD's medical big data and hospital network infrastructure.
Through this, the company aims to digitize physical touchpoints within hospitals, enhance the efficiency of medical services, and achieve innovation in patient-centered accessibility. By strengthening remote monitoring and data-driven decision support systems, CI Tech plans to reduce the workload of medical staff while implementing customized treatment processes for individual patients.
A company representative stated, "This merger will change the paradigm of medical services through the convergence of hardware, software, and data," adding, "The AI healthcare platform can contribute to bridging healthcare gaps and improving treatment outcomes."
CI Tech will hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on June 9 to add AI healthcare-related business to its portfolio. The company plans to focus on fostering AI healthcare as a core business area to lead the future.
