Lee Byunghoon Criticizes Lee Nakyeon-Han Ducksoo Alliance: "Not the Right Thing for the People"

Joining Hands with the Yoon Sukyeol Administration Is Disrespectful
Politics Should Serve the Greater Good, Even If It Means Humbling Oneself

Former National Assembly member Lee Byunghoon, who was previously considered part of the Lee Nakyeon faction, criticized the speculation about Senior Advisor Lee Nakyeon's presidential bid for the Saemirae Democratic Party and his possible alliance with Acting President Han Ducksoo, stating that it is "not the right thing to do for the people."

On April 29, Lee wrote on Facebook, "It is disrespectful to the Democratic Party that there is even talk of an alliance with Prime Minister Han Ducksoo, who was aligned with the Yoon Sukyeol administration that led to the impeachment crisis."

He continued, "While politicians may prioritize party interests, statesmen protect the nation and unite the people," adding, "Politics based on the idea of 'anyone but Lee Jaemyung' ultimately leaves nothing behind."

Lee emphasized, "One should not make choices that go against the greater cause for the sake of personal ambition," and stressed, "A true statesman must be willing to humble himself for the greater good."

Lee is a high school junior of Senior Advisor Lee and served as a spokesperson for Lee Nakyeon's campaign during the Democratic Party's primary for the 20th presidential election. However, after Lee Nakyeon moved to form a new party following his defeat in the primary, Lee parted ways with him, saying it "goes against the will of the people."
