Muan County Selected as Outstanding Local Government for Return to Farming and Rural Migration

Muan County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim San) participated in the 'Y-Farm Expo 2025 Regional Revitalization Fair for Returning to Farming and Rural Areas,' held at the Suwon Convention Center over three days from April 25 to 27, and was honored to receive the Rural Development Administration Commissioner Award for outstanding local governments supporting return to farming and rural migration.

According to the county on April 29, this year's 'Y-Farm Expo,' marking its 10th edition, was held under the slogan "Vitality for Rural Areas, Future for Youth." A total of 164 local governments, public institutions, and companies from across the country took part. The fair featured a variety of programs designed to lay the foundation for the growth of smart agriculture and to facilitate the stable settlement of people returning to farming and rural areas.

In particular, this year's fair attracted significant attention with several exhibition halls, including a promotional hall providing information on support policies and job opportunities for returnees by region and institution; a hometown love donation hall introducing local government return gifts; and a rural experience hall promoting farm stays and urban agriculture.

Muan County became the recipient of the award in recognition of its achievements in operating step-by-step settlement support programs for returnees, such as one-on-one customized consultation services, systematic information provision and education from the initial stage of interest, and the establishment of agricultural bases.

Governor Kim San stated, "This award is a valuable result created by the efforts and passion of our team for returning to farming and rural areas. We will continue to provide unwavering support to lower the barriers for newcomers and help urban residents settle stably in Muan County."
