Yangcheon District in Seoul (headed by District Mayor Lee Gijae) announced on April 29 that it will host the 'Career and College Admission Fair' from May 15 to 17 for three days at the Yangcheon District Sports Center and the surrounding Haenuri Town area, where visitors can access the latest information needed for career and college planning all in one place.

Reflecting the high level of enthusiasm at last year's event, the district has expanded the fair to include the outdoor plaza at Haenuri Town. The event will feature a high school admission fair, overseas university campus admission counseling, a strategy seminar for holistic student record admissions, Y Teachers lectures, and a career exploration zone. These programs are designed to provide practical career exploration opportunities not only for middle and high school students but also for elementary students and their parents.
Throughout the three days of the fair, the 'High School Admission Fair' will offer high school admission information sessions, as well as counseling and experience booths. At Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town, admission officers from leading private and gifted high schools in Korea?including Daewon Foreign Language High School, Sangsang High School, Pohang Jecheol High School, and Myeongdeok Foreign Language High School?will host school-specific information sessions to introduce their respective admission processes.
At the Haenuri Town outdoor plaza and the main gymnasium of the District Sports Center, visitors can explore 'High School Counseling Booths' featuring 15 local high schools, as well as national private, special-purpose, and arts high schools. Notably, this year the number of participating schools at the counseling booths has been expanded to about 30, and a new 'Career Experience Booth' has been added, allowing students to experience specialized fields such as vocational and arts high schools, thereby broadening the scope of high school career exploration.
This year's fair will also include admission counseling for the 'Incheon Global Campus,' Korea's only joint overseas university campus. Incheon Global Campus, which hosts five prestigious foreign universities?including State University of New York, George Mason University, and University of Utah?will introduce each university's academic programs and admission processes, offering a unique opportunity to earn a degree from a renowned overseas university while studying in Korea.
Additionally, on May 16 and 17, Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town will host lectures by leading instructors in each field, focusing on college admission strategies and motivation. On May 16, the 'Strategy Seminar for Holistic Student Record Admissions' will feature Bae Youngjun, a prominent public education admissions expert and current career and college guidance counselor at Seoul Boseong High School, who will share key insights on "Targeting Early College Admission and Creating an Attractive Student Record."
On May 17, the 'Y Teachers' lecture will feature EBS's leading English instructor Jung Seungik and top middle school science instructor Jang Pung, who will provide analysis of college entrance and exam trends, subject-specific study strategies, and self-directed learning methods.
The 'Career Exploration Zone,' where students from elementary through high school can receive one-on-one career and college counseling, will be set up at the main gymnasium of the District Sports Center on May 17. Here, elementary and middle school students can receive counseling on self-directed learning methods and career planning tailored to their temperament and disposition, high school students can receive customized college admission roadmaps based on the high school credit system, and third-year high school students preparing for college entrance exams can receive in-depth counseling from current admissions officers, tailored to each university's selection process.
District Mayor Lee Gijae stated, "This year's Career and College Admission Fair is composed of a wide variety of beneficial programs that encompass students from elementary to high school," adding, "I hope this fair will provide a practical opportunity for students to explore and design a career path that suits them."
