Kim Taekyun, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, attended the 15th Saemaeul Day ceremony held at the Kim Daejung Auditorium of the Jeonnam Provincial Government on the 28th. He presented awards to distinguished contributors and stated, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the noble values of the Saemaeul spirit and to widely carry them forward."
The ceremony was attended by Governor Kim Youngrok, members of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, and about 800 Saemaeul leaders from cities and counties. The event proceeded with a congratulatory performance, followed by the screening of a promotional video, the presentation of awards, and a commemorative photo session.
In his congratulatory address, Kim Taekyun emphasized, "The Saemaeul Movement, now in its 55th year, was once a means of survival, but today it is driving continuous development and, as the slogan says, advancing toward the future and the world. The 1.8 million Saemaeul leaders and members nationwide are setting an example of solidarity and cooperation that encompasses local communities."
He added, "I will continue to work diligently in legislative activities to ensure the Saemaeul Movement is widely promoted and can advance toward the future and the world, and I will actively support any policy initiatives that arise."
