Permanent Performances Featuring Local Stories Gain Popularity Among Residents and Tourists
Every Weekend at 2 p.m. from May 3 to October 26
On April 28, Cheorwon County in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Lee Hyun-jong) announced that the Cheorwon Cultural Foundation will present the permanent performance '1930 Cheorwon! Modern Times' at Cheorwon History and Culture Park every weekend at 2 p.m. from May 3 to October 26. This performance is set in Cheorwon during the 1930s and features content related to Cha Hongnyeo, who was active at Cheorwon Theater.

The permanent performances at Cheorwon History and Culture Park, which began in 2023, have consistently been loved by both local residents and tourists each year. By featuring content that reflects the unique characteristics of the region, the performances have effectively conveyed the distinct charm of Cheorwon. This year as well, a variety of performances based on Cheorwon's unique stories will be presented for audiences of all generations to enjoy.
Shin Jungcheol, Head of Operations at the Cheorwon Cultural Foundation, stated, "We hope that local residents and tourists who visit Cheorwon History and Culture Park through the permanent performances will take away positive memories of Cheorwon," adding, "We will continue to focus on developing cultural performances and programs that highlight the unique characteristics of our region."
Meanwhile, the 2025 permanent performance at Cheorwon History and Culture Park, '1930 Cheorwon! Modern Times,' will not be held from July to early August due to weather conditions during the rainy season.
