Gwangju City announced on the 28th that it will be accepting applications for the "2025 First Half Hometown Love Donation Program Thank-You Gifts and Suppliers" until the 30th, in order to find thank-you gifts that showcase Gwangju’s unique characteristics in areas such as tourism, local cuisine, and hands-on experiences.

Last year, the city significantly expanded the number of thank-you gifts from 14 to 62, resulting in a nearly threefold increase in the total donation amount (360 million won). Accordingly, the city plans to add more thank-you gift items in various categories through this year’s open call.

In particular, in connection with the "2025 Visit Gwangju Year," the city plans to offer a variety of thank-you gifts, including tourism services, renowned local restaurants, and experiential programs, so that donors can stay in Gwangju and experience its diverse flavors and attractions.

Eligible applicants include production, manufacturing, and service companies with business locations in Gwangju. Applicants are required to propose items that align with the purpose of the Hometown Love Donation Program. Detailed information on the application schedule and procedures can be found in the notices and announcements section of the Gwangju City website.

The thank-you gifts and suppliers will be finalized through a review by the "Gwangju City Thank-You Gift Selection Committee," which will evaluate the regional relevance and quality of the gifts, as well as the local presence and reliability of the suppliers.

Additional thank-you gifts selected through this process are scheduled to be available from mid-May. Donors can participate in the Hometown Love Donation Program and place orders online through "Hometown Love Eum" and affiliated banks (Kookmin, IBK, Shinhan, Hana, Nonghyup), or at Nonghyup branches.

Park Yunwon, Director of the Department of Autonomous Administration, stated, "We will actively discover thank-you gifts that embody the quality and charm of Gwangju to enhance donor satisfaction," adding, "We look forward to the interest and participation of outstanding local companies."
