Supporting Overseas Expansion of Non-Metropolitan Companies and Others

KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) has received the highest grade for the fourth consecutive year in the "2024 Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The Win-Win Growth Evaluation is an annual system that comprehensively assesses public institutions’ performance and efforts in mutual cooperation and win-win growth. This year, the evaluation covered 134 public institutions, and KOTRA has been selected as the top institution for four consecutive years since 2021.

KOTRA received high marks for its overall achievements in promoting win-win growth in connection with its management strategy. Key achievements include: operating the "KOTRA Win-Win Growth Collaboration Guild" to implement government mutual cooperation policies; improving support for overseas expansion of non-metropolitan companies, small business owners, and social economy enterprises; achieving the highest-ever performance-sharing results; and providing management support for partner companies, such as technology protection and labor consulting.

As a public institution responsible for trade and investment promotion, KOTRA has also supported the global growth of SMEs, startups and venture companies, and small business owners through initiatives such as establishing a win-win trade payment card platform for SMEs, supporting the prevention of and response to trade fraud, and implementing global ESG (environmental, social, and governance) trade barrier response projects.

In particular, KOTRA operates the "Large and Small Enterprises Joint Overseas Expansion Project," which supports the overseas expansion of SMEs through collaboration among large corporations and public institutions, leveraging its network of 131 overseas offices in 85 countries. Last year, KOTRA diversified its projects by launching joint export initiatives with specialized trading companies and establishing a win-win export voucher fund, achieving a record-high export performance.

Kang Kyungsung, President of KOTRA, stated, "KOTRA is internalizing the value of win-win growth throughout its operations, going beyond its original role of promoting trade and investment. We will continue to take the lead in creating an ecosystem of mutual growth with SMEs, small business owners, and startups and venture companies, and will make ongoing efforts to support these companies in entering the global market."
