Chungnam Office of Education Begins Selection Process for 4.6 Trillion Won Education Treasury Operator

Chungnam Provincial Office of Education

The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education announced on April 28 that it will select a financial institution to handle the education treasury operations for the provincial office from 2026 to 2029 through an open competitive bidding process, and has issued a bid notice.

The current contract with the financial institution managing the education treasury will expire on December 31. The next financial institution, to be selected through the upcoming open competition, will be designated as the sole treasury operator for the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education, with an annual operational scale reaching 4.6 trillion won.

The main duties include: ▲ collection and safekeeping of revenues such as the Special Account for Education Expenses, funds, and cash outside of revenue and expenditure accounts; ▲ disbursement of expenditures; ▲ deposit and management of operating funds; and ▲ provision and support of electronic financial services for education (e-Education Treasury).

To ensure an efficient bidding process, the provincial office plans to hold an on-site briefing session at the Financial Affairs Division of the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education at 10:00 a.m. on April 30.

During the on-site briefing, detailed guidance will be provided on the bidding procedures, evaluation criteria, and proposal preparation methods. There will also be a Q&A session with representatives from participating financial institutions.

Applications and proposal submissions for participation in the bidding will be accepted over two days, from May 19 to May 20. Further details can be found in the bid announcement posted on the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education website.

Lee Byungchul, Director of the Financial Affairs Division at the provincial office, stated, "We will select a responsible financial institution to jointly manage the finances of Chungnam education through a transparent and fair open competitive bidding process."
