Shanghai Delegation Watches
"Prince Geumma and Lady Wolchulsan"
An animation based on the Wolchulsan legend and created using generative artificial intelligence was introduced to a Chinese cultural organization.
On April 23, a delegation from the Shanghai Cultural Association (President Yang Zhenhua) visiting Korea watched "Prince Geumma and Lady Wolchulsan," which was produced by Yeongam County (Governor Woo Seunghee) after being selected for the 2023 Jeonnam Cultural Content Industry Support Project, organized by the Jeonnam Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency.

The Shanghai Cultural Association is an affiliate of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce, with over 120 member companies in various fields such as film, art, and media. The delegation, including President Yang, visited the region for three days and two nights to explore the cultural content industry in Jeonnam.
The Jeonnam Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency welcomed the delegation and presented six cultural content projects from Jeonnam, including "Prince Geumma and Lady Wolchulsan." The two sides also discussed ways to cooperate, including cultural content exchanges between Jeonnam and Shanghai.
In addition to this screening, "Prince Geumma and Lady Wolchulsan" has attracted attention both domestically and internationally, winning the Grand Prize in the Animation Shorts category at this year's Seoul International AI Film Festival and the Grand Prize in the Generative AI Film category at the Moscow International Children's Film Festival.
The county is also supporting screenings of the animation at local kindergartens and schools so that children can learn about the Wolchulsan legend through cultural content. The animation, which connects the love story of Prince Geumma from the heavenly realm and Lady Wolchulsan, the guardian of Wolchulsan, to the nine wells of Gujeongbong on Wolchulsan, is currently available on various platforms, including Yeongam County's official YouTube channel.
