Launched in 2018, the Jaseng Dream Tree Olympics is a sports event aimed at promoting the health and vibrant culture of children from local community centers. Except during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has been held one to two times a year, touring cities across the country. To date, approximately 3,700 children have experienced cooperation and community spirit through the Jaseng Dream Tree Olympics.
This year's event in Bucheon brought together about 400 children from 18 local community centers, along with around 100 staff members from Jaseng Medical Foundation, Bucheon Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, and volunteers from the community centers. The event was also supported by Minshik Shin, Chair of the Social Contribution Committee at Jaseng Medical Foundation, and Inhyuk Ha, Director of Bucheon Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, among others.
During the main event, the children were divided into four teams and competed in 11 events, including Circle Game, three-legged race, U-boat relay, Jegichagi, and relay race. The winning team received gift certificates and commemorative items as prizes, and all participants received a small gift regardless of their final ranking.
In addition to the event, Jaseng Medical Foundation and Bucheon Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital donated office equipment and Ssanghwa tea to local community centers. Domestic fashion company BKAVE also provided 400 sets of children's clothing to the participating children.
Bucheon Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital also set up a booth for children to experience the profession of Korean medicine doctor, offering them career exploration opportunities. A scholarship was also presented to Bucheon University, which provided the venue for the event.
Byungmo Park, Chair of Jaseng Medical Foundation, stated, "The foundation is taking the lead in supporting scholarships, culture, and sports for children, who are the next generation, and we will continue to deliver a warm message to society."
Meanwhile, Jaseng Medical Foundation continues to support events for children and adolescents from vulnerable groups. The foundation is also running scholarship programs such as the Hope Dream Scholarship and the Jaseng Shin Joonshik Scholarship, as well as projects like the Children's Spinal Health Guardian Project, to support the healthy growth of children.
