The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC), chaired by Choi Wonho, announced on April 28 that Jo Jeonga has been appointed as the new Standing Commissioner, concurrently serving as Secretary General.
Jo Jeonga passed the 42nd Higher Civil Service Examination and entered public service in 1999. Since 2014, she has held positions such as Director of the Radiation Safety Division and Director of the Safety Policy Division at the NSSC, and most recently served as Director General of the Safety Policy Bureau.
The NSSC deliberates and makes decisions on matters related to nuclear safety as stipulated by law, and the term of office for commissioners is three years. The commission consists of a total of nine members: two standing commissioners (the Chairperson and the Secretary General) and seven non-standing commissioners.
