At 9 a.m. on the same day, Lee will visit the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, and pay his respects at the graves of former presidents Kim Daejung, Kim Youngsam, Park Chunghee, and Rhee Syngman.
Lee's decision to visit the graves of former presidents from the conservative camp is interpreted as an emphasis on national unity, including an expansion toward centrist and conservative voters.
In his acceptance speech immediately after being nominated as the party's candidate the previous day, Lee declared himself "the candidate for all citizens" and pledged, "I will fully carry out the president's foremost responsibility of achieving national unity."
In the afternoon, Lee will visit the SK hynix Icheon Campus in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, to hold a roundtable on artificial intelligence (AI) memory semiconductors. SK hynix CEO Kwak Nojeong and other executives are expected to attend the meeting.
