In Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, an art show featuring 1,200 drones will light up the sky next month.
On April 28, Suwon City announced that the organizing committee of the '2025 Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific Forum' will hold a drone art show at Gwanggyo Lake Park in Suwon on May 28, the opening day of the forum.
The '2025 Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific Forum', co-hosted by Suwon City and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, will be held from May 28 to 30 at the Suwon Convention Center and throughout Suwon, under the theme of 'Hyper-Connected Cities by ITS'.

Suwon City plans to use this drone art show to highlight the image of a smart city, including autonomous vehicles, so that citizens can become more familiar with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The show will be designed as an enjoyable performance for everyone by seamlessly integrating with local landmarks.
The drone art show will take place for 15 minutes starting at 8:30 p.m. on May 28. A rehearsal will be held at the same time the day before, on May 27. Anyone can watch the show at Gwanggyo Lake Park, and by scanning the QR codes on banners attached to streetlights with their smartphones, visitors can play sound effects on their devices.
A Suwon City official said, "As this is the first time a large-scale drone art show with 1,200 drones will be performed in Suwon, we are preparing an impressive show that will satisfy the citizens. One hour before the drone art show, a boom-up busking performance will also be held at the outdoor plaza of the Suwon Convention Center, so we hope many citizens will come and enjoy it."
Meanwhile, free registration for exhibition access is available on the official website (www.itsap2025.org) until May 14. On-site registration will require a fee of 10,000 won.
