Children Take Center Stage in May!... Children's Festivals to Be Held in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Songpa-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, and More

In celebration of Family Month this May, a series of children's festivals will be held, offering opportunities for families to watch, eat, experience, and enjoy together.


Seoul's autonomous districts, including Yeongdeungpo-gu, Songpa-gu, and Dongdaemun-gu, will hold Children's Day festivals on May 3, as May 5, Children's Day, falls on a public holiday.

Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Cho Hogwon) will host the '2025 Children's Festival' at Yeongdeungpo Park on May 3 in celebration of Family Month.


Under the theme "Play Well! Laugh Well! Grow Well!", the festival will run from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is organized into four sections: experiences, performances, games, and food & relaxation zones, all designed for families to enjoy together.


The most anticipated program this year is the 'horseback riding experience' in the city center. In addition, there will be a VR bus, 3D pen activities, and other exciting science experiences. There will be over 20 experience booths, including bracelet making, traditional costume experiences, face painting & calligraphy. The performance zone will feature a magic show by Choo Seungho, the district children's choir, a taekwondo demonstration, family recreation, and a children's environmental musical, providing a rich and diverse array of attractions. Amusement rides such as the Viking, bumper cars, swing rides, and a mini train will also be available. Some experiences and rides require a participation fee of 1,000 won, and all proceeds will be donated to charity. The food zone will sell a variety of snacks, including Dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken), churros, tornado potatoes, Sotteok Sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers), and toast. The festival aims to be 'zero waste' by using reusable containers. Visitors who bring their own tumblers or containers will receive a 500 won discount. Mayor Cho Hogwon of Yeongdeungpo-gu stated, "We have prepared a festival where parents and children can enjoy themselves and create precious memories together for Family Month in May," adding, "We will continue to support children so they can grow up healthy and full of hope."

Songpa-gu to Host Children's Festa ... A Giant Festival Filled with Performances, Experiences, and Food

Featuring international art troupe performances, bubble shows, musical plays, experience zones, and a variety of foods



Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gangseok) will hold the 'Songpa Children's Festa' on May 3 at Seoul Nori Madang and around Seokchon Lake in celebration of Children's Day.


This year, the festival will feature a variety of performances to spark children's imaginations, including international art troupe shows, comic ballet, belly dance, bubble shows, and musical plays. Special events commemorating Children's Day will also be held, such as a project where children's drawings and photos are displayed at the 'Lake Bridge Gallery,' creating meaningful memories for the young participants.


On the day of the festival, festivities at Seoul Nori Madang will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a pre-show by the Songpa Cultural Foundation's Dream Dance Troupe. The opening ceremony will feature performances by the district youth symphony orchestra, the district children's choir, and the marching band from Seoul National University Elementary School, giving children a stage to showcase their talents. The lineup continues until 6:00 p.m. with the Soreal Orchestra's 'Children's Film Concert,' a magic bubble show, a performance by the Mongolian art troupe 'Aifairy Art Troupe,' the children's musical 'The Grasshopper Who Loved the Queen Ant,' and 'Strange Chamber Orchestra,' a combination of comedy and classical music. On the waterfront stages of Seokchon Lake's East and West Lakes, from noon, there will be a live drawing show by artist Hong Wonpyo, puppet shows, bubble shows, and circus comedy, providing lively entertainment. Mayor Seo Gangseok of Songpa-gu said, "We have prepared a giant festival where families can run and play freely and have a great time together in celebration of Children's Day."

Dongdaemun-gu to Hold 'Dongdongdong Kids Day' for Children's Day

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pilhyung) will host the 103rd Children's Day event, 'Dongdongdong Kids Day,' on May 3, under the theme 'Moving the Hearts of Dongdaemun's Children.'


This event will feature a variety of programs for children to participate in and enjoy, held at both Dongdaemun-gu Office and the Garden of Knowledge. On the second floor auditorium of the district office, the 'Kids World Magic Show' will take place. 'Magician JT's Science Laboratory,' which includes a science magic show and a laser show, will be performed twice?at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.?with each show lasting about 60 minutes.


In the district office plaza, the playground (bubble playground, kids fishing, etc.), experience booths, and food trucks will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and anyone can participate without prior registration. At the Garden of Knowledge (691-3 Jeonnong-dong), the 'Flower Garden Art Sketch' program will be held, allowing children to express their creativity in nature. About 50 elementary school students will participate. Mayor Lee Pilhyung of Dongdaemun-gu said, "I hope this Children's Day will be a day when children can laugh and enjoy themselves to the fullest."
