"Martial Law Attempt Is Worse Than the Democratic Party's Impeachment Efforts"
"I Always Speak Frankly and Get Fired... It Feels Like I Live an Exhausting Life"
Hoon Han, a preliminary presidential candidate of the People Power Party, appeared on 'SNL Korea 7.' He pointed out that former President Seokyeol Yoon's attempt to declare martial law was a more serious issue than the frequent impeachment attempts by major opposition parties such as the Democratic Party of Korea.
On the April 26 episode of Coupang Play's 'SNL Korea' Season 7, Han appeared in the 'Branch Manager Goes' segment, where he took on the concept of applying for a part-time job at a convenience store and answered various questions during an interview.
When actress Ji Yeeun, playing the role of the convenience store branch manager, asked as a quick-thinking test, "Which is a worse act: the 'attempt to declare martial law' or the 'more than 30 impeachment attempts'?" Han chose the attempt to declare martial law.
Han said, "I always speak frankly and get fired for it, and I guess I'll get fired again for saying this."
He continued, "When I was a prosecutor, the Democratic Party tried to take me down, and when I was involved in other investigations, the conservatives tried to do the same. After investigating Guk Cho (then Minister of Justice), the Democratic Party tried to put me in jail again, and I almost ended up in prison." He added, "It seems like I always live a somewhat exhausting life."

When asked about his relationship with fellow preliminary candidate Junpyo Hong, Han laughed and said, "(Candidate Hong) pretends to be close." In response to the question, "Have you reconciled?" he answered, "He has been one-sided about this for a long time. When an elderly person insults you, you just have to take it."
When asked about his relationship with First Lady Keonhee Kim, Han replied, "It's been a long time since we've been in contact, so there's nothing special about our relationship."
On the broadcast, comedian Sungho Jung caught viewers' attention by impersonating Han. On April 22, Han had posted a photo with Jung on his social media, announcing his appearance on SNL.
When Han asked Jung, who was holding a triangle kimbap, "Would you like me to heat it up for you?" Jung, mimicking Han's expression and tone, replied, "How did you know I was going to buy this?"
Jung continued to ask, "Did I ever say I would pay with cash?" and "Do you know the definition of business obstruction?"
This scene parodied a script that circulated online under the title "Hoon Han at a Convenience Store" during Han's time as Minister of Justice. The script was a satire of Han's heated debates with several Democratic Party lawmakers in the National Assembly at the time.
In response, Han made an awkward face and said, "Ah, do I really act like this?" He then added, "If someone makes that face in front of you, it really gets on your nerves," making a self-deprecating remark that drew laughter.
This video, produced as a short clip titled "When Hoon Han Meets Hoon Han," has become a trending topic on social media and other platforms.
