Yeonggwang County Successfully Holds Cheonil Salt Harvesting Event to Pray for a Bountiful Year

The Yeonggwang Cheonil Salt Producers Association recently held a Cheonil Salt Harvesting Event to publicly announce the first production of Cheonil salt for the year, to wish for the production of premium Cheonil salt, and to pray for a year free of accidents and a bountiful harvest of Cheonil salt.

The event was attended by over 110 Cheonil salt producers, including Yeonggwang County Governor Jang Seil, Yeonggwang County Council Chairman Kim Kangheon, and Cheonil Salt Producers Association Chairman Kang Myungsoo.

Yeomsan-myeon, where the event was held, is a region whose name literally means "salt mountain." It has a long history and tradition of Cheonil salt production. In particular, the area boasts high-quality Cheonil salt thanks to its pristine mudflats embracing the Chilsan Sea, optimal sea breezes, and mineral-rich seawater and mudflats.

This event is expected to promote the excellence of Yeonggwang Cheonil salt, strengthen its competitiveness through the production of premium Cheonil salt, and enhance consumer trust.

An official from Yeonggwang County stated, "Although we are facing difficult financial conditions due to reduced government funding, we will do our utmost to foster a sustainable Cheonil salt industry."
