Four wildfires broke out in the North Gyeongsang region, but all were quickly brought under control.
At 9:42 a.m. on April 26, a wildfire occurred on a hillside in Geochon-ri, Bonghwa-eup, Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province, and was extinguished within 38 minutes.
On the same day at 2:30 p.m., a fire broke out on a hillside in Dongwon-ri, Dansan-myeon, Yeongju City, and was completely put out at 3:48 p.m., 1 hour and 18 minutes later.
Subsequently, at 3:15 p.m., a fire started on a hillside in Dasan-ri, Gangdong-myeon, Gyeongju City, and was fully extinguished within 45 minutes, by 4:00 p.m.
Additionally, at 3:36 p.m., a wildfire broke out in Manseok-ri, Singwang-myeon, Buk-gu, Pohang City, and with the prompt response of the forestry authorities, it was put out in 22 minutes, by 3:58 p.m.
An official from the Korea Forest Service stated, "All wildfires that occurred in North Gyeongsang have now been extinguished, with only the wildfire in Inje, Gangwon Province remaining."
