Jeongdong-ri and Mujung-ri, Hongsan-myeon Area...
Project Scheduled for Completion in 2028
Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province has officially launched a large-scale development project aimed at revitalizing the local economy and attracting future strategic industries.
On April 25, Buyeo County held a groundbreaking ceremony for the "Buyeo General Industrial Complex Development Project" in the Jeongdong-ri area of Hongsan-myeon.
The Buyeo General Industrial Complex is the first general industrial complex in Buyeo County and will be established on a site of approximately 463,000 square meters spanning Jeongdong-ri and Mujung-ri in Hongsan-myeon.
The county plans to complete the project by 2028 using a public development model that it will implement directly.
The main industries targeted for attraction include ten strategic sectors such as batteries, food, and chemicals. The county aims to strengthen the local industrial base and promote job creation and economic revitalization through this initiative.
The county has completed preliminary preparations, including land acquisition, logging, and archaeological surveys, and will begin full-scale construction in the second half of the year.
In addition, construction of infrastructure such as a public wastewater treatment facility, an industrial water supply facility, and access roads will also be pursued.
The industrial complex also boasts excellent location conditions. It is close to Seobu-yeo IC, offering outstanding transportation accessibility, and allows travel to cities in the central region such as Sejong and Daejeon, as well as the Saemangeum National Industrial Complex, within 40 minutes.
In particular, with the Buyeo-Pyeongtaek Expressway scheduled to open in December, access to the Seoul metropolitan area is expected to be reduced to within one hour.
The county plans to attract companies by offering various incentives, including local investment promotion subsidies. At the same time, it will establish worker support infrastructure?such as accommodations, job placement services, and convenience facilities?through the "Worker Settlement and Vitality Town Development Project."
Park Junghyun, the county governor, stated, "Buyeo County, which has been centered on agriculture and national heritage, is now at the starting point of becoming a future industrial city," and added, "We will spare no administrative and financial support to attract companies and vitalize the industrial complex."
