On April 25, Gwangju Emergency Action for Liquidation of Rebellion and Social Reform asserted, "Judge Ji Guyon and Prosecutor General Shim Ujeong, who assisted in the release and suspension of detention of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, must be immediately impeached."
Gwangju Emergency Action held a press conference in front of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office that day and criticized, "A bizarre situation is unfolding in which Ji Guyon, a 'legal bandit' who aided the prison break of Yoon Suk-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion, is now presiding over the former president's trial."
They went on to say, "The Supreme Court must immediately remove Judge Ji Guyon from the trial and initiate disciplinary proceedings," and urged, "Prosecutor General Shim Ujeong, who is facing various corruption allegations, must resign immediately."
Gwangju Emergency Action added, "We cannot allow the trial to continue under these preferential conditions any longer," and demanded, "Immediately detain Yoon Suk-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion."
