Looking for a Name That Is Easy to Pronounce and Friendly
The Chungnam Office of Education announced on April 25 that it will hold a public contest for the name of the tentatively named Honeybee Library for 15 days, from April 25 to May 9.
The Honeybee Library, currently under construction at 1866 Sucheong-dong, Dangjin City, is scheduled to open in September 2026. The library will be a two-story building with a total area of 2,783.81 square meters. It will house facilities such as resource rooms for infants and young children, a general resource room for teenagers, lecture rooms, and a book cafe.
Any resident of Chungnam Province, including students, parents, and staff, may participate in the contest. Participants can download the application form from the Chungnam Office of Education website or the Chungnam Office of Education Integrated Library website, fill in the proposed library name and its meaning, and submit it.
The library name should be symbolic of the library, easy to pronounce, and have a friendly tone. Submissions can also be made via email or mail.
The Office of Education will form a Library Naming Selection Committee to review the entries received during the contest period and plans to announce the final selection in June.
Participants in the naming contest will have a chance to receive a prize through a drawing.
A representative from the Office of Education stated, "We hope that by selecting a meaningful name that reflects the library's purpose and role, the tentatively named Honeybee Library will become a special place for local residents."
