Entertainment agency Magic Strawberry Sound announced on April 25 that it has signed an exclusive contract with singer Soyou (real name Kang Jihyun).
The agency stated, "We will support Soyou so that she can fully showcase her musical abilities as both a vocalist and a producer, and actively pursue various activities."
Soyou debuted in 2010 as a member of the group Sistar and has since been active as a solo vocalist. She contributed to the success of numerous drama OSTs, including "Love in the Moonlight," "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," and "When the Camellia Blooms." Her collaborative tracks with various artists have also dominated the top ranks of major music charts.
In 2017, she participated in writing the lyrics for "For You," a track on Sistar's goodbye single. In 2022, she expanded into producing by including her self-composed song "Tree" in her first solo mini album. Since then, she has also contributed to songs such as "We Walk Toward Farewell Every Day," "I Will Become My Mother's Mother," which was revealed through Mnet's music variety show "Noraebang VS," and "Goodbye, My Star."
Meanwhile, Magic Strawberry Sound is also home to Song Sohee, Marrakesh, Ahn Dayoung, Yebit, KONA, and Samui.
