Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Leejeong Customs Corporation on April 25
The Korea Chemical Industry Council is strengthening its support for origin management in the chemical industry in response to growing uncertainty caused by the recent tariff policies of the Trump administration in the United States.
On April 25, the Korea Chemical Industry Council announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Leejeong Customs Corporation to support origin management in the chemical industry. Regarding this MOU, the council explained, "As uncertainty intensifies due to the Trump administration's tariff policies, the purpose is to support origin management for the domestic chemical industry and proactively respond to origin determinations by customs authorities in the United States and other countries."
Under the agreement, the council and Leejeong will provide basic consulting and advisory services related to origin management and will organize lectures and training sessions for industry stakeholders. The council and Leejeong also held a seminar attended by more than 40 executives and employees from member companies, where they shared case studies on determining origin standards for exports to the United States, risk management strategies, and response measures to prepare for the possibility of U.S. customs classifying products as being of Chinese origin in the future.
