Korea Master Craftsmen Association Donates 10 Million Won and Serves 1,000 Jajangmyeon Meals to Yeongdeok Wildfire Victims

Volunteer Activities Including Haircuts and Beauty Services

The Korea Master Craftsmen Association visited Yeongdeok County on April 25 to support the residents suffering from record-breaking wildfire damage. The association delivered a donation of 10 million won and carried out volunteer activities, including serving 1,000 servings of Jajangmyeon and providing free haircuts and beauty services.

The volunteer activities were joined by Seo Wan-seok, president of the Korea Master Craftsmen Association, as well as master craftsmen such as Seo Jeong-hee (cooking) and Shin Hwa-nam (beauty), along with branch presidents and members from the Daegu, Busan, and Ulsan regions. About 25 university students majoring in culinary arts and several master beauticians also participated.


Seo Wan-seok, president of the Korea Master Craftsmen Association, expressed his hope that "the residents of Yeongdeok, who have suffered enormous losses due to the large-scale wildfire, will quickly regain stability and return to their daily lives. We hope our small contribution can be of some help."


Kim Kwang-yeol, governor of Yeongdeok County, said, "I deeply thank President Seo Wan-seok and all the members of the Korea Master Craftsmen Association for not only the donation but also their heartfelt encouragement and volunteer work. We will work even harder on recovery efforts and show everyone Yeongdeok rising again."


The Korea Master Craftsmen Association consistently carries out nationwide social contribution activities every year, including talent donations and providing lunch to vulnerable groups. The association also participates in projects to promote a competency-based society, passes on the importance of skilled trades, and puts into practice global expertise, knowledge, and a strong spirit of craftsmanship.
