Prime Minister Han Ducksoo, Acting President, stated on the 25th, "The government will do its utmost to honor those who have dedicated themselves to the nation and its people."

Han made these remarks while attending the 2nd Fallen Military Police Day ceremony held at the National Daejeon National Cemetery, saying, "The freedom and peace we enjoy today are thanks to the dedication of young people in the Republic of Korea."

He emphasized, "North Korea continues to pose a serious threat to peace on the Korean Peninsula and around the world through nuclear and missile provocations. The government is maintaining a perfect security posture and is responding firmly to any provocations from the North in order to protect our freedom and peace."

He continued, "In this unique security environment, our young people willingly dedicate their youth and serve on the front lines of national defense," adding, "Behind the everyday life that we take for granted lies the sacrifice of countless young people who never returned."

Fallen Military Police Day is a commemorative day established to honor and remember the sacrifice of military police officers who tragically lost their lives while fulfilling their duty of national defense. It was designated by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs on November 21, 2023, and is observed annually on the fourth Friday of April.

Han added, "This day is not only about remembrance, but also about the state's promise to fulfill its responsibilities," and emphasized, "We will make every effort to care for and support the bereaved families."
