On May 3 at Mai Hall in Jinan Culture House
The Jinan County Children's and Social Welfare Foodservice Management Support Center in North Jeolla Province announced on April 25 that it will present a special nutrition education musical to commemorate Children's Day and mark the center's 10th anniversary.
The musical "Balanced Eating Campaign with Eliya," which will be held on May 3 at Mai Hall in the Jinan Culture House, is designed as an experiential educational content to teach children healthy eating habits in an engaging way. This performance aims to deliver messages about "balanced eating" and proper handwashing habits to local children and their guardians through a fun and entertaining story.
Based on the results of the "Children's Dietary Data Construction" project conducted by the Foodservice Management Support Center in 2024, the content of the musical addresses two main issues: insufficient practice of "balanced eating" among young children, and the increasing consumption of "high-calorie, high-fat, and sugary foods" among elementary school students.
The musical centers on a showdown between the villains "Ogre and Lersa," who promote unhealthy foods, and the righteous wizards "Eliya and Oliver," who set out to defeat them. Through this story, children can naturally develop the habit of eating foods of five different colors in a balanced way.
Tickets for this musical will be distributed free of charge. They can be picked up at the Foodservice Management Support Center's promotional booth at the event venue on May 3, Children's Day, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The target audience is preschool children, lower-grade elementary school students, and their guardians. To receive a ticket, participants are required to add the center's Kakao channel and fill out a consent form for the collection and use of personal information.
After the performance, a satisfaction survey will be conducted among the audience, and the feedback collected will be reflected in future educational programs. Through these efforts, the county plans to provide children with even more beneficial and practical nutrition education.
