K3i Targets Overseas Expansion of AR and VR Tourism Infrastructure Beyond Korea

K3i, a company specializing in immersive extended reality (XR) content, announced on April 25 that the cumulative number of visitors to "Immersify KL," its first immersive XR content experience center established in Malaysia, has surpassed 30,000.

The K3i XR content experience center has become a prominent tourist landmark locally and is gaining popularity. As the Malaysian business has entered full-scale operations, K3i expects to create synergy in the XR tourism infrastructure sector this year, in addition to its existing domestic business.

Currently, the global exhibition and tourism industry is shifting from a "viewing-centered" to a "participation-centered" paradigm. Starting with its success in Malaysia, K3i plans to establish XR tourism infrastructure not only in Korea but also in Mongolia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Singapore, Kuwait, and the Philippines, actively expanding into the global market.

In Korea as well, demand for building XR-based immersive tourism infrastructure is rapidly increasing. K3i's technological capabilities and content competitiveness are attracting attention.

Last year, K3i secured approximately 8.8 billion KRW in orders solely from the domestic and international tourism XR business sector. In 2024, the company won 35 immersive content development projects nationwide, including augmented reality content for the Hwangnyongsa Nine-Story Wooden Pagoda, the Seoraksan Osaek Cable Car Metaverse Promotion Center, and the Yeongcheon Metaverse Experience Center immersive content.

A K3i representative stated, "The number of visitors to the Malaysian XR experience center has been steadily increasing on a weekly basis," adding, "There is significant demand and interest in XR content locally." The representative continued, "As a technology-leading company in the domestic and international XR tourism business, K3i will continue to expand its presence in the global market, focusing on Asia."

The representative also explained, "As the downstream market expands, the tourism XR business is expected to become a stable revenue base and a growth engine," and added, "We will continue to develop XR content and platforms specialized for various industries, including education, training, culture, healthcare, manufacturing, and entertainment."

XR is an ultra-immersive technology that provides engaging experiences by utilizing augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies. K3i's independently developed XR middleware solution is an open software development tool essential for XR content development and execution.
