Mungyeong Saejae Open Set to Operate Weekend Hanbok Experience Center

Mungyeong City in Gyeongbuk announced that it will operate a Hanbok Experience Center at the Mungyeong Saejae Open Set every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and on public holidays from April 26 until the end of October.

This Hanbok Experience Center has been planned as part of the event "Following the Past Road of Mungyeong Saejae." The Sajongjeon Hall within Gyeongbokgung Palace at the Mungyeong Saejae Open Set has been renovated to provide adult and children's hanbok, accessories, changing rooms, and photo zones.

Visitors to the Hanbok Experience Center can wear hanbok and enjoy taking photos throughout the open set, experiencing an atmosphere reminiscent of the Joseon Dynasty.

In particular, with the Chasabal Festival beginning on May 3, the festival atmosphere is expected to be even more vibrant for hanbok experience participants.

Mungyeong City will offer the hanbok experience free of charge this year as a pilot project. Participants must leave an ID and can enjoy the experience for one hour. The Hanbok Experience Center operates every weekend and public holiday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will be closed in case of rain due to its outdoor nature.

Mungyeong City stated that, as the Mungyeong Saejae Open Set is the largest filming location for historical dramas in Korea, it will also provide foreign tourists visiting the area with the opportunity to experience traditional Korean culture. The city also plans to expand the scale of the hanbok experience, renovate the center, and offer even more diverse programs.
